MAPIM built a mosque at Balukhali Coxs Bazar Camp in Bangladesh that houses more than 400,000 newly arrived refugees from Myanmar southern town of Maungdaw.

Through donations from generous contributors, MAPIM built a mosque with an area of 3,600 square feet that can accommodate a congregation of 400 to 500 people at a time.

The mosque, named Jame’ Balukhali Mosque, began its Friday prayer congregations on 22 September 2017 despite in a state of lacking.

Now it is also accommodating almost 100 children learning muqaddam and Al Quran.  Even though the size of the mosque is quite limited, 40 Tahfiz students are also using the facilities.

The Jame’ Balukhali Mosque required a cost of USD 8609.35 to build.  It still requires an additional financing of USD 3587.23  for sanitation facilities and mosque equipment.
